What's a Men's Shed?
A Men's Shed is a safe place for men to gather, drink coffee, be creative, and support one another. It's somewhere to go, something to do, and someone to talk to.
Members cross age, professions, religion, social status, political beliefs. None of that matters here. Our guiding value is simple: Respect.

Why Men? Why Sheds?
Men don't ask for the help they need.
Many retired men were brought up in an era where they were expected to remain stoic. They didn't ask for directions then, and they don't ask for help now. The Men's Shed Movement is the Social Health Care Innovation men need. (Men's Shed Canada, 2022)
Sheds are symbolic of that backyard shed in the neighbourhood where men would gather to tell tall tales, share the news, or work on old cars, bikes, or projects. The New Beginnings Men's Shed is based in a carpentry shop so anything is possible.
